Good afternoon Church / Welcome.

Thank you for being here today. We are gathered to celebrate the life of Roxie Ann Patterson.

Please join me AS WE OPEN THE CELEBRATION  in a word of prayer.

OPENING PRAYER:
Good afternoon Father,
Thank you for your Son Jesus,
It is through HIM that we have your Church, a place to worship, to be uplifted.

It is through HIM that we have your Holy Word, the Bible, our manual for living a new way of life.

And it is through HIM that we have your Holy Spirit, an advocate who helps us and who is with us forever.
Thank You Father.

Father, we gather to remember Roxie, a Christian servant. As we share our thoughts and memories of Roxie, we are at a lost of such a great Christian women.

Father, give us your peace and be with us today as we celebrate her life and the memories that we have of her.
In Jesus Holy Name we pray, Amen

I’d like at this time to share, in brief, the life of Roxie.

Roxie Ann Patterson, 80 years old, went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 9th, 2012. She was born April 17, 1932 in Eden, Texas to William and Leo Burcham. Roxie met Bob while attending Abilene Christian College and they were married October 9th, 1953. They move to Beaverton, Oregon 45 years ago from Dallas, Texas.

Roxie made a commitment to the Lord and was baptized at age 12. She renewed that decision each day, living it out in every action she took.

In the words of her grandchildren she was gracious, compassionate, loving, wise, patient, insightful, understanding, humble, selfless, strong, prepared, thoughtful, enjoyable, magnetic, beautiful and Christ-like. In the words of ones who loved her and came to serve her in her last days, by her grace they were blessed. Peace describes her life and her love of the Lord.
